Countdown Newsletter – September
Well Brentonians, it is only six (6) months to go before we see our old home-away-from- home again. For those of you who have planned, those of you who have dreamt, and those of you who still wish, that our rich and colorful youth at Brent could be re-visited, this monthly newsletter is for you. After many planning ideas in terms of coordinating a group departure and agency-type group travel over a year ago, we have come to the conclusion that herding cats would be an easier task. So, we are simplifying things and providing you information so that you can independently make your own travel and accommodation plans and provide any feedback you can so that we can update as much of the information that can be shared and useful.
To start with, Roy McDonald is assisting me in posting this newsletter and subsequent and other updates on the Brent stateside website www.brentkids.com. Go to the News tab on the website and follow the links to get this and other information updated o/a 15th of each month until March or 2009. I will be e-mailing you this Newsletter as well to hopefully energize you into making plans to meet in Baguio. If you choose not to receive this e-mail, please e-mail Roy at rmcdonal@sesi.com and he will take you off of the distribution list.
Now, the following tables will be updated depending on your input as you get your plans underway - should you choose to provide them to us. In that way, other Brentonians that may be making plans can potentially coordinate or coincide their plans with yours in terms of airlines, hotels, etc, thus forming mini-groups informally that could make the trip to PI more enjoyable. Please send your plans/information that fit the three tables when you have them. There are currently three tables, a Roster of Brentonians that we know are going, or planned to go but could not due to some conflict, have plans to go, or it is too early for them to plan this far ahead; there is also a table of Itineraries that includes known-to-date confirmed travelers. So, as soon as you have confirmed your plans let us know, we can update it for the website and our next countdown Newsletter. The last is a general table of flight and hotel links that you may want to choose for your travel plans. Please e-mail any updates to rmcdonal@sesi.com and put in the subject field: Brent Centennial 2009 which can make it easier to distinguish from spam mail.
